TENGTOOLS

Wire File Extractor

Two or more wires can be joined neatly and efficiently by using crimping tools. A crimper exploits the malleability of metals to deform and then connect the metals. A cold-working process, crimping tools are used successfully in a number of electric and electronic applications where soldering is cumbersome. In combination with a wire stripping mechanism, crimping pliers can provide solutions to a number of issues that arise from wiring and re-wiring. Wire stripping tools allow the jacket and insulation of the wire to be easily removed for crimping.

Hand files are used for a smooth, accurate finish to any material work. The three cuts available determine the degree of smoothness as does the length of the file. The longer the file, the coarser the finish is the general rule. To remove accumulated filings, chalk powder is rubbed onto the file or a wire brush used to clean it after use.

When the head of the bolt, screw or stud is stripped or broken off, a stud extractor can effectively remove the fastener without making the whole exercise a test of patience. A stud extractor has counter-clockwise threads that can be screwed into a bolt that has lost its head. The screw first has to be drilled to create a pilot hole with a left-handed drill bit. The pilot hole allows the extractor to be placed inside the broken stud for a quick and easy removal. Stuck rusted nuts can pose a serious challenge to repairs, renovations and a multitude of other tasks where they are involved. A high quality nut splitter will not damage the bolt threads and will allow easy use for the inaccessible areas.
